The 600 watt solar panel price in Pakistan is usually a little higher per watt than the 585 W rate, and buyers fairly ask what the extra buys them. The short answer: 15 more watts in exactly the same frame, from two of the most efficient panels on the market. The live rates for each model are in the dated table above. This page explains the specs, when the premium is worth it, and how to wire and size a 600 W system properly.
Right now the cheapest A-grade 600 W panel on our sheet is Rs 25,500, which is Rs 42.5 per watt, against a market average of Rs 41.3 per watt for large panels.

600 watt solar panel specifications
Two 600 W models are sold here in volume, and both use back-contact cells. In a back-contact panel all the wiring sits behind the cell, so the front has no silver busbars to block light. That is how they fit 600 W into the 2278 × 1134 mm frame that other brands use for 585 W.
| Spec (maker datasheet) | LONGi Hi-MO X6 LR5-72HTH-600M | AIKO ABC AIKO-A600-MAH72Mw |
|---|---|---|
| Cell type | N-type HPBC back contact, 144 cells | N-type ABC back contact, 144 cells |
| Size | 2278 × 1134 × 30 mm | 2278 × 1134 × 30 mm |
| Size in feet | 7.47 × 3.72 ft | 7.47 × 3.72 ft |
| Weight | 27.2 kg | 27 kg |
| Voc / Isc | 52.81 V / 14.46 A | 53.99 V / 14.20 A |
| Vmp / Imp | 44.66 V / 13.44 A | 44.68 V / 13.43 A |
| Efficiency | 23.2% | 23.2% |
| Power temp. coefficient | -0.29%/°C | -0.26%/°C |
| Voc temp. coefficient | -0.23%/°C | -0.22%/°C |
| Product warranty | 15 years | 15 years |
| Power warranty | 25 years, under 1.5% loss in year 1 then 0.4% a year | listed up to 30 years; confirm on your card |
Two details are easy to miss:
- Both frames are 30 mm deep, not 35 mm. End and mid clamps must be sized for 30 mm, or the panel sits loose in a storm.
- AIKO’s -0.26%/°C is one of the best heat ratings in our price sheet. On a 65°C June roof it loses about 10.4% to heat, against about 11.6% for the LONGi and 14% for an old Mono PERC plate.
Back contact in plain words
In a normal panel, thin silver lines on the front of each cell collect the current. They work, but they also shade a small part of the cell. Back-contact designs move all of those contacts to the rear.
- More of the front surface catches light, which is where the extra watts come from.
- The panel looks uniformly dark, with no visible grid lines.
- The cell has to be made with more process steps, which is part of why these plates cost more per watt.
- Installation is exactly the same: same MC4 connectors, same clamps (for the right frame depth), same inverters.
Both brands are covered in more detail on our LONGi solar panel price and AIKO solar panel price pages.
600 W vs nearby wattages: which should you buy?
The key point about a 600 watt solar panel is that it sits at the top of what is commonly sold here in the standard 2278 mm frame. Most 620 W and 650 W plates in the Pakistani market use a longer or wider frame.
| Wattage | Cheapest A-grade | Price per watt | Common frame size | Output per roof slot vs 585 W |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 585 W | Rs 23,400 | Rs 40 | 2278 × 1134 mm | baseline |
| 600 W | Rs 25,500 | Rs 42.5 | 2278 × 1134 mm | about 2.6% more |
| 620 W | Rs 24,800 | Rs 40 | 2382 × 1134 or 2465 × 1134 mm | about 6% more, but a longer plate |
| 650 W | Rs 27,950 | Rs 43 | 2382 × 1134 or 2384 × 1303 mm | about 11% more, larger plate |
How to decide:
- If your roof has space to spare, buy whichever of 585 W and 600 W is cheaper per watt. Our 585 watt solar panel price page lists those models.
- If your roof is full and the structure is already built for 2278 mm plates, 600 W is usually the most output you can buy here without new rails.
- If you are building a new structure on a large roof, a 620 W or 650 W plate may give fewer, bigger panels. See the 620 watt solar panel price page. For the biggest plates, including the wide 1303 mm Canadian format, see the 650 watt solar panel price page. Check the structure and the staircase first; a bigger plate is harder to carry up and needs stronger rails.
Is the premium worth it?
Work it out per roof slot, not per watt. Suppose your roof fits exactly 10 plates. With 585 W you get 5.85 kW; with 600 W you get 6.0 kW, 150 W more for the same structure, cable runs and labour. In Lahore that extra 150 W makes about 225 units a year. If the extra cost of ten 600 W plates over ten 585 W plates is small, those units pay it back in a few years. If the gap is large, it will not.
Who should skip 600 W
- Buyers with a big, open roof and a tight budget. More 585 W or 580 W plates will cost less for the same kW.
- Anyone extending an older string of 540 to 585 W plates. The higher 600 W voltage and different current make it a poor match in the same string.
- Owners of hybrid inverters with a low PV input limit (around 450 V). Strings of only 7 to 8 plates may sit too close to the bottom of the MPPT range on hot days.
How many 600 W panels for 3, 5 and 10 kW (with price)
The round numbers work out neatly at 600 W.
| System | 600 W panels | DC size | Panel cost (cheapest 600 W) | Clear roof needed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3 kW | 5 | 3.0 kW | Rs 127,500 | about 175 sq ft |
| 5 kW | 9 | 5.4 kW | Rs 229,500 | about 315 sq ft |
| 10 kW | 17 | 10.2 kW | Rs 433,500 | about 590 sq ft |
Roof figures include about 25% extra for gaps and walkways around plates of 27.8 sq ft each.
Note the 5 kW case. Eight plates give 4.8 kW and nine give 5.4 kW. Many installers pick eight 600 W plates for a 5 kW inverter on a tight roof; the inverter runs close to full power at midday in spring and loses almost nothing.
Example: a 10 kW job on a 1-kanal roof in Islamabad
A family in a 1-kanal house in Islamabad wants about 10 kW to run two inverter ACs through summer.
- Seventeen 600 W plates give 10.2 kW.
- The roof fits two rows of eight plus one spare slot, so the 17th plate goes on a short third row.
- A 10 kW three-phase on-grid inverter with two MPPTs takes strings of 9 and 8.
- Expected output: about 15,900 units a year, roughly 1,600 in a summer month and 900 in a foggy winter month.
How many units does a 600 watt panel produce in Pakistan?
The table below shows yearly output for one 600 W panel and per kW, using long-term solar data for each city at a south-facing tilt with about 22% off for losses. Back-contact panels with a good heat rating may beat these figures slightly in summer.
| City | One 600 W panel per year | Per kW per year | Best month (one panel) | Weakest month (one panel) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lahore | about 905 units | about 1,510 | about 92 units | about 50 units |
| Karachi | about 1,040 units | about 1,730 | about 105 units | about 73 units |
| Islamabad | about 935 units | about 1,560 | about 95 units | about 53 units |
| Peshawar | about 1,020 units | about 1,700 | about 110 units | about 56 units |
| Quetta | about 1,160 units | about 1,935 | about 119 units | about 70 units |
The per-kW column is handy for checking any installer’s promise. If a quote for a 5.4 kW system in Lahore claims 10,000 units a year, that is about 1,850 per kW, which is too optimistic for central Punjab.
Check your system after installation
Once the panels are on the roof, use the inverter’s app or display to make sure they are doing their job.
- Note the daily units on three clear days in a row. Divide by your kW. In Lahore in April you should see roughly 5 to 5.5 units per kW on a clean, clear day, and a little more in Quetta.
- Compare strings. Two equal strings on separate MPPTs should give nearly the same power at noon. A gap of more than about 5% points to shade, dirt or a faulty connector.
- Wash and re-check. If output jumps after a wash, set a cleaning routine.
- Check again in December. A big drop is normal; a string that drops much more than the other is not.
Since the NEPRA (Prosumer) Regulations 2026 took effect, new connections export under net billing at a much lower rate than grid units cost. That makes it worth matching the system to your own use rather than chasing the biggest number.
What can a 600 watt solar panel run?
Most people buying 600 W plates are trying to cut an AC-heavy summer bill. On a hot afternoon one 600 W plate gives roughly 440 to 490 W of usable AC power. Here is how that maps to cooling.
| AC type (inverter) | Typical running draw on a 40°C+ afternoon | 600 W plates to run it in daytime |
|---|---|---|
| 1 ton | about 700–1,000 W | 2 |
| 1.5 ton | about 1,000–1,400 W | 3 |
| 2 ton | about 1,400–1,900 W | 4 |
Other loads, per 600 W plate at midday:
- About 13 DC inverter fans, or 5 to 6 ordinary AC ceiling fans
- An inverter fridge and a deep freezer together, with room to spare
- A 1 HP water motor needs about 2 plates and an inverter that handles its start surge
- A washing machine, iron or microwave for short bursts, as long as the AC is not also running
A practical rule for summer: one plate per fan cluster of five, three per 1.5 ton AC, one for the kitchen, one for the motor. A house with two 1.5 ton ACs therefore lands at 9 to 10 plates.
Best inverter for 600 W panels
This is where 600 W panels need more care than 585 W ones. Their open-circuit voltage is higher, so strings must be shorter.
| LONGi LR5-72HTH-600M | AIKO A600-MAH72Mw | |
|---|---|---|
| Voc at 25°C | 52.81 V | 53.99 V |
| Voc at 0°C (approx.) | 55.9 V | 57.0 V |
| Max per string at 500 V | 8 | 8 |
| Max per string at 600 V | 10 | 10 |
| Max per string at 1000 V | 17 | 17 |
| Max per string at 1100 V | 19 | 19 |
Compare that with a Jinko 585 W plate, where nine fit under 500 V. With 600 W plates, nine in a string on a 500 V hybrid can go over the limit on a cold Islamabad or Peshawar morning, which can damage the inverter and void its warranty.
Other checks:
- Current: Isc is about 14.2 to 14.5 A. Most current inverters accept this, but older units rated at 12 to 13 A per MPPT will clip.
- MPPT window: an 8-plate string works at about 357 V, dropping towards 320 V on a hot afternoon. Make sure the inverter’s MPPT range starts well below that.
- Oversizing: many inverters allow PV up to 1.3 times their AC rating. Nine 600 W plates (5.4 kW) on a 5 kW inverter is normally fine; check the datasheet.
Protection that a 600 W system should have
| Item | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| DC isolator near the inverter | Lets you cut panel power safely for maintenance |
| DC surge protection (SPD) | Lightning near the roof can damage the inverter through long DC cables |
| Proper earthing pit | Frames and inverter body must be earthed; check resistance |
| Correct cable size (4 or 6 mm² DC) | Thin cable on long runs wastes power and heats up |
| MC4 connectors from one maker | Mixed brands of connector are a common cause of hot spots |
On-grid or hybrid? With net billing, a hybrid that stores midday units for the evening AC hours is more attractive than it was. If your area has little load-shedding and most of your use is in the day, a straight on-grid inverter remains cheaper.
Buying tips before you pay
600 W plates sell at a premium, so the checks focus on making sure you get what you pay for.
- Confirm the bin on the label. The back label must say 600 W and show the full model, such as LR5-72HTH-600M or AIKO-A600-MAH72Mw. LONGi’s 585 W plate costs less and looks identical from the front.
- Ask for the flash test value. The factory measures every plate, and the distributor can usually give you the measured power for each serial.
- Check the frame depth before the installer brings clamps. 30 mm frames need 30 mm clamps.
- Handle with care. The LONGi uses a single 3.2 mm glass sheet; carry it on edge and never stand on it.
- Get the distributor’s warranty card. Back-contact panels are newer in Pakistan, and only the official channel can process a claim.
- Keep each model on its own string. LONGi and AIKO 600 W plates have different voltages.
- Get a full bill with model, wattage, serial numbers and date.

Frequently asked questions
What is the 600 watt solar panel price in Pakistan?
The cheapest A-grade 600 watt panel on our sheet is Rs 25,500 as of 9 Oct 2026. LONGi and AIKO are the two main brands at this size; the table at the top shows each one's rate and price per watt.
What is the size of a 600 watt solar panel?
The LONGi and AIKO 600 W panels both measure 2278 × 1134 × 30 mm, about 7.5 × 3.7 feet, the same footprint as a 585 W plate. They weigh about 27 kg.
Is a 600 watt panel better than a 585 watt panel?
It gives about 2.6% more power from the same roof space, using back-contact cells. It is worth buying when your roof is full or when its price per watt is close to the 585 W rate.
How many 600 watt panels do I need for 5 kW?
Nine 600 W panels give 5.4 kW. On a tight roof, eight panels (4.8 kW) on a 5 kW inverter also work well.
How many 600 watt panels can I put in one string?
On a 500 V hybrid inverter keep it to 8 panels, because cold mornings push their voltage up. On a 1000 V three-phase inverter, up to 17 panels per string is safe.
How many units does a 600 watt solar panel produce?
About 905 units a year in Lahore, 935 in Islamabad, 1,040 in Karachi and about 1,160 in Quetta. Winter months give roughly half of a spring month in Punjab.
Can 600 watt panels run an air conditioner?
Yes, as part of a system. Plan on about three 600 W panels for a 1.5 ton inverter AC on a hot afternoon, and more for the rest of the house.
What clamps do 600 watt panels need?
Both main 600 W models have 30 mm deep frames, so the installer must use 30 mm end and mid clamps. Clamps made for 35 mm frames will not hold the panel tightly.
