There are dozens of solar panel brands in Pakistan, but most rooftop systems are built with a handful of large Chinese manufacturers, plus a few local brands that rebadge imported panels. The tiles above show the cheapest current model from each brand we track. This guide explains how the brands differ, which names to trust, and what to ask about the labels you will hear in the market.

How to choose between solar panel brands in Pakistan
A brand name only tells you who stands behind the panel. What you actually buy is a specific model with a cell type, a wattage and a warranty. Start with your system and budget, then pick the brand.
| Your priority | Brands to shortlist | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Safest long-term choice for a home | Jinko, Longi, Canadian Solar, JA Solar, Trina | Large Tier 1 makers with long warranties and wide stock in Pakistan |
| Most watts from a small roof | Aiko, Longi back-contact models | Back-contact cells pack more output into the same panel area |
| Lowest price for a Tier 1 panel | Astronergy, JA Solar | Usually competitive on price against the best-known names at similar sizes |
| Large commercial or farm system | Risen, Trina, Aiko | 650 to 740 W class panels cut structure and labour per watt |
| Small off-grid setup on a budget | Generic A-grade, local brands | Small sizes are mostly sold under local or generic labels |
Three checks before you settle on a brand
- Is there a local importer or distributor? A warranty is only as good as the company that will process the claim in Pakistan.
- Is the exact model on the maker’s website? Look up the model number and download the datasheet. If the model does not exist, walk away.
- Does the dealer stock enough of the same model? You want every panel in the system to match.
Brand vs series: why the model number matters
Every big brand sells more than one range at the same time. Jinko, for example, sells both the older Tiger Pro (Mono PERC) and the newer Tiger Neo (N-type TOPCon) in Pakistan, and Longi still has Hi-MO 5 old stock alongside the newer Hi-MO X7 and Hi-MO X9. Two panels with the same logo can therefore have different heat performance, ageing and warranty. When a dealer says “Jinko 550”, ask which series. The difference between series of one brand is often bigger than the difference between two Tier 1 brands in the same technology.

Price per watt explained: why brands cost different amounts
Two 585 W panels from different brands can be a few hundred rupees apart. Here is why, and the live price per watt for the main brands at comparable sizes:
| Brand and size | Cell type | Price per watt now |
|---|---|---|
| Jinko 585 W | N-type TOPCon | Rs 43.5 |
| Longi Hi-MO X7 585 W | Bifacial | Rs 42.8 |
| JA Solar 585 W | N-type TOPCon | Rs 40.2 |
| Astronergy 585 W | N-type TOPCon | Rs 41 |
| Canadian 590 W | N-type TOPCon bifacial | Rs 43 |
| Trina 590 W | N-type TOPCon | Rs 40 |
| Aiko 620 W | N-type ABC | Rs 40.5 |
What makes one brand dearer than another
- Cell technology: back-contact and HJT cells cost more to make than TOPCon or PERC.
- Demand: the brands people ask for by name sell faster, so dealers hold their price.
- Import channel: panels from an authorised distributor carry the full warranty and usually cost slightly more than parallel imports.
- Stock levels: when a brand’s container is delayed, its price can jump for a few weeks while others stay flat.
Is the most expensive brand the best?
Not automatically. A higher price per watt buys you a newer cell type, a brand that resells easily, or simply a name with more demand. For a typical home on a sunny, unshaded roof, any current N-type panel from a Tier 1 maker will perform within a few percent of the others. Spend the extra only when it solves a real problem, such as a small roof that needs the most efficient panel you can find.
Our solar panel price per watt page shows how to compare quotes on this basis.
Local brands, rebadged panels and names you will hear in the market
Walk through any solar market and you will hear names that are not on the Tier 1 lists. Some are genuine brands with Pakistani support, some are labels on imported panels, and some are simply borrowed famous names. Here is how to think about the common ones.
| Name you may hear | What it usually is | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Inverex, Crown | Karachi-based companies that sell panels under their own brand, largely made with OEM partners | Warranty terms and who makes the cells |
| Sogo | A Pakistani company (part of the SOGO Group) known for inverters, lithium batteries and solar pumps, which also lists panels | Model datasheet and warranty for the panel itself |
| Max Power | A Lahore-based seller offering panels under its own “MP” model names | Who actually manufactures the panel |
| Yingli | A Chinese manufacturer that was one of the biggest names a decade ago | Whether the stock is new and current |
| Osda, Osaka, Jasco | Smaller labels seen in local markets | Maker, datasheet and real warranty support |
| “German” or “cells Germany” panels | A marketing label; very few panels in Pakistan are made in Germany | Ask for the actual factory and certificate |
| “Korean” panels | Often refers to brands like Hanwha Qcells; LG left the panel business in 2022 | Check the serial with the maker |
| Honda, Caterpillar | Famous engine and machinery names; we could not confirm these companies supply panels to Pakistan | Treat the name as marketing and judge the panel on its datasheet |
How to check a lesser-known brand
- Search the exact model number and find the manufacturer’s own datasheet, not a dealer’s copy.
- Check the certificates listed on the label, such as IEC 61215 and IEC 61730, and ask for copies.
- Ask who the importer is and where you would take a warranty claim in Pakistan.
- Compare the label values (Voc, Isc, Pmax) with the datasheet. They should match exactly.
- If the dealer cannot answer these questions, buy a brand that can be checked.
Should you buy a local or generic brand?
For a small off-grid kit, a generic or local A-grade panel is usually fine, and it is often the only option at 150 to 350 W. See the live rates for these sizes:

For a 5 or 10 kW grid-tied system expected to last 25 years, the small saving rarely justifies the extra warranty risk. Compare the Inverex and Crown pages if you want a local brand with a known address.
Tier 1 brands for home rooftops

How Tier 1 brands differ in practice
- Technology focus: Longi and Aiko push back-contact cells, Jinko, JA Solar, Trina and Astronergy are strong in TOPCon, and Risen is known for HJT.
- Size range: Trina and Risen sell some of the largest formats on our sheet, useful for commercial roofs.
- Bifacial options: Canadian Solar’s TOPBiHiKu panels are a common pick for raised structures.
- Availability: Jinko and Longi are the easiest to find in most cities, which matters if you need to add panels later.
Is a China solar panel lower quality?
No. Almost all of the Tier 1 panels sold in Pakistan, including Canadian Solar, are made in Chinese factories or in plants run by Chinese manufacturers elsewhere in Asia. “China solar panel price” is not a lower tier in itself. The real split is between named Tier 1 makers with traceable serial numbers and unbranded panels with no warranty support.
Brand choice and complete solar system price
The brand you choose changes the panel bill for a whole system. Here is the panel cost for a 5 kW home system with different brands, using the closest size each brand sells:
| Brand and panel | Panels for 5 kW | Price per panel now |
|---|---|---|
| Jinko 585 W | 9 | Rs 25,420 |
| Longi 585 W | 9 | Rs 25,010 |
| JA Solar 585 W | 9 | Rs 23,545 |
| Astronergy 585 W | 9 | Rs 23,985 |
| Canadian 585 W | 9 | Rs 25,155 |
| Inverex 585 W | 9 | Rs 24,280 |
Multiply the panel count by the price per panel for the brand’s share of the bill. The difference between brands is real, but it is usually small next to the cost of the inverter, structure and, if you want backup, batteries.
A sensible approach for most families is to fix the panel size first, get two or three quotes for that size from different Tier 1 brands, and then choose on warranty support and stock availability rather than on the last few hundred rupees. If one brand is out of stock in your city, a same-technology panel from another Tier 1 maker at the same wattage is a safe swap, as long as every panel on the roof is the same model.
Where brand matters most in a system
- Panels: the longest-lived part, so warranty and degradation matter most here.
- Inverter: the part most likely to need service; local after-sales support counts more than the brand name.
- Batteries: check the cycle rating and who handles claims.

Frequently asked questions
Which solar panel brands are best in Pakistan?
For home rooftops, Tier 1 makers such as Jinko, Longi, Canadian Solar, JA Solar and Trina are the safest picks because they have long warranties and wide stock. Aiko, Astronergy and Risen are also Tier 1 and suit specific needs like small roofs or large commercial systems.
Are German solar panels sold in Pakistan?
Very few panels sold in Pakistan are actually made in Germany. Labels such as "German" or "cells Germany" are usually marketing, so ask the dealer for the real manufacturer, the datasheet and the certificates before paying extra.
Is Yingli a good solar panel brand?
Yingli is a Chinese manufacturer that was one of the largest in the world about a decade ago. If you are offered Yingli panels, check that the stock is new, that the model is current and that someone in Pakistan will handle warranty claims.
What about Sogo and Max Power solar panels?
Sogo is a Pakistani company better known for inverters, lithium batteries and solar pumps, and Max Power is a Lahore-based seller with its own panel models. Judge their panels on the datasheet, cell type and warranty support, the same as any other brand.
Are Honda or Caterpillar solar panels genuine?
We could not confirm that these companies supply solar panels to Pakistan. Treat such names as marketing, and buy only if the panel has a real manufacturer, a matching datasheet and a warranty you can claim.
Are Korean solar panels better than Chinese ones?
Not necessarily. Korea's best-known panel brand today is Hanwha Qcells, and LG left the panel business in 2022. Most Tier 1 panels in Pakistan are made by Chinese manufacturers and perform just as well.
Are Chinese solar panels lower quality?
No. Almost all Tier 1 panels sold in Pakistan come from Chinese manufacturers. The real difference is between named Tier 1 makers with traceable serials and unbranded panels with no warranty support.
Does the brand change the cost of a full system much?
Panels from different Tier 1 brands at the same size are usually close in price, so the brand changes the total system cost only a little. Warranty support and stock availability are better reasons to choose one brand over another.
