The 180 watt solar panel price in Pakistan starts at Rs 10,000 for an A-grade mono plate on our live sheet. A 180 watt solar panel is often built in the same frame as a 150 W plate, so you get about 20 percent more charging power without needing more space. That makes it a favourite for vendor carts, small stalls, guard rooms and anyone who wants a router or a couple of cameras to keep running when the grid goes down.

180 watt solar panel specifications

A 180 W panel is a 12 V class module. Many makers fit it into a frame very close to the common 150 W size by using stronger cells, which is why the two are often sold side by side.

SpecificationTypical 180 W value

Vmpabout 18 to 19.5 V
Impabout 9.3 to 9.8 A
Vocabout 22 to 23 V

Weightabout 10.5 to 12 kg
Module efficiencyroughly 17 to 19 percent
Suits12 V batteries with PWM or MPPT controllers

For reference, at least one major maker’s datasheet lists a 190 W, 12 V panel in exactly the same 1485 x 668 mm frame as its 150 W model, so a 180 W rating in that size is realistic. For other frame sizes, see the solar panel size in feet guide.

The size test for a genuine 180 W panel

Here is a simple check you can do with a measuring tape. Small mono panels produce roughly 170 to 220 W per square metre of frame, and even the best rarely pass 230 W. So:

  1. Measure length and width in metres and multiply them.
  2. Multiply the result by 230. That is about the most a panel of that size can honestly produce.
  3. If the label claims more than that, be suspicious.

A frame of 1.48 x 0.67 m is about 0.99 square metres, which supports 180 W comfortably. A “180 W” panel that is only 1.2 x 0.55 m would need impossible efficiency, so the label is wrong.

180 W vs nearby wattages: which should you buy?

The 180 W plate sits between the entry-level 150 W and the popular 200 W panel. Only the 180 W has a live A-grade price on our sheet right now. Prices for 150, 200 and 220 W vary a lot by brand and grade, so get a dealer quote for those.

Which to choose:

  • Pick the 150 watt panel only if it is clearly cheaper and your load is small, such as lights and phone charging.
  • Pick 180 W when space is fixed at the 150 W size but you want faster charging, or when you are replacing a 150 W panel on an existing stand.
  • Pick the 200 watt panel when space is not an issue and the price gap is small. It pairs well with a 100 Ah battery.
  • Look at large plates on the solar panel price list if you are planning anything near 1 kW.

The biggest practical advantage of 180 W is the upgrade path. If you already have a 150 W stand, a 180 W panel usually bolts straight on.

Portable and roadside setups

Many 180 W panels end up off the roof. The size is light enough to carry and big enough to keep a small business lit after dark.

SetupHow the panel is mountedWhat it powersPractical note
Fruit or food cart (thela)Bolted to a light frame above the cartLED strip lights, phone chargingKeep the battery in a closed box under the cart
Roadside stall or tea dhabaOn the roof sheet or a poleBulbs, a small fan, a speakerTilt it south when you set up each day
Tube-well or guard roomOn a stand beside the roomFan, lights, phoneEarth the frame on open farmland
Camping and hunting tripsLeaned on a vehicle or a folding standLights, power banks and phone chargingProtect the glass while travelling

Ready-made kits exist for some of these uses, but buying the panel, controller and battery separately usually gets you better parts. Compare kit prices against the live panel prices on our home page.

How many 180 W panels for 3, 5 and 10 kW (with price)

Here is what a home-size system would need using 180 W plates, against large 585 W panels.

Small plates need far more mounting work than large ones.
System180 W panelsPanel cost585 W panelsPanel cost with 585 W

5 kW28Rs 280,0009Rs 210,600
10 kW56Rs 560,00018Rs 421,200

Counts round up to whole panels. Building a home system from 180 W panels is not sensible. The number of plates, clamps, joints and cable runs grows so quickly that both cost and fault risk climb. These are the builds where the 180 W panel belongs:

BuildPanelsPanel costTypical use
Cart or stall kit1Rs 10,000Lights, small fan, phone charging
Room backup2 in parallelRs 20,00012 V 100 to 150 Ah battery, fans at night
Small 24 V setup2 in seriesRs 20,00024 V battery with a 24 V controller
Larger 12 V bank3 in parallelRs 30,00012 V 200 Ah, 30 to 40 A controller
24 V, two strings4 (2 in series x 2)Rs 40,00024 V 150 Ah, small solar UPS

A good rule for 180 W panels: stop at four. Beyond that, the extra stands, cables and controller capacity cost more than simply moving up to a pair of larger plates. If you already own two 180 W panels and need more power, adding two matching panels in a second string is fine, but for a fresh build of 1 kW or more, start with bigger panels from the beginning.

How many units does a 180 watt panel produce in Pakistan?

The table gives rough weekly units for one 180 W panel by season and region. Weekly totals are handy if you plan battery use around the week, as many shop owners do. Figures assume a clean, south-facing panel with no shade, after normal losses.

SeasonUpper Punjab and IslamabadSouth PunjabSindh coastBalochistan highlands
Winter (Dec to Feb)3.4 to 4.24.4 to 5.24.9 to 5.74.6 to 5.4
Spring (Mar to Apr)5.6 to 6.46.3 to 7.16.2 to 7.06.4 to 7.2
Summer (May to Jun)6.3 to 7.16.5 to 7.36.0 to 6.87.7 to 8.5
Monsoon (Jul to Sep)5.3 to 6.15.6 to 6.44.6 to 5.47.2 to 8.0
Autumn (Oct to Nov)4.9 to 5.75.4 to 6.25.3 to 6.16.2 to 7.0

Divide by seven for a daily figure. In round numbers, one 180 W panel gives about 0.5 to 1.2 units a day across the year, and roughly 250 to 350 units in a full year depending on where you live.

What drives the differences:

  • Upper Punjab loses the most in winter to fog and smog, often for several days in a row.
  • The Sindh coast stays steadier in winter but drops in the humid, cloudy monsoon months.
  • Balochistan’s highlands have clear, dry air, so output stays high even in the monsoon season when the plains are cloudy.

Getting more from a panel that moves

Carts and stalls lose a lot of output simply because the panel faces the wrong way. A few habits close most of the gap:

  1. Park so the panel faces roughly south, or tilt the frame towards the sun when you set up.
  2. Avoid parking under trees, shop awnings or billboards in the middle of the day.
  3. Wipe the glass each morning. Road dust builds up much faster than on a rooftop.
  4. Charge the battery from the panel before you open the stall, so you start the evening with a full battery.

If you want to check your own numbers against your loads, use the solar panel calculator.

What can a 180 watt solar panel run?

On a 12 V battery with a basic PWM controller, one 180 W panel gives roughly 0.6 to 0.75 units of usable energy on a good summer day. That suits light, steady loads.

Loads that run around the clock

Some loads never switch off. A 180 W panel is a good match for the smaller ones:

Best inverter for 180 W panels

The best choice for a 180 W panel is often no inverter at all. Running DC loads straight from the battery avoids a hidden drain that matters a lot at this size.

OptionWhat it costs you in energyWhen to use it
DC loads only, from a 12 V controllerVery littleFans, lights, router, phone charging
Small inverter for AC loadsConversion loss plus idle draw of several watts, all day if left onShort use of AC appliances, switch it off after
12 V solar UPS with built-in chargerSimilar losses to an inverterWhen you already own AC fans and want simple wiring
Hybrid inverterUsually cannot start on one 22 V panelNot suitable without several panels in series

The idle draw point is worth stressing. A small inverter left on all day can use a noticeable share of what a 180 W panel produces, even with nothing plugged in. Switch it off when not needed, or buy DC appliances.

For the controller itself:

  1. One panel: a 20 A PWM controller rated for 12 V. Isc of about 10 A times 1.25 gives about 13 A, so 20 A leaves headroom.
  2. Two panels in parallel: 30 A, with a fuse on each panel lead.
  3. Two panels in series for 24 V: a 24 V controller whose PV input is rated above about 50 V.
  4. MPPT: worth it only when you have three or more panels, or a long cable run where higher voltage helps.

Buying tips before you pay

  1. Do the size test. Multiply the frame’s length and width in metres by 230. The label should not claim more watts than that.
  2. Match your existing stand. If you are upgrading from 150 W, ask for the exact frame size and hole positions.
  3. Check the label. Voc should be about 22 to 23 V and Isc about 10 A for a 12 V class 180 W panel.
  4. Test under sun. A multimeter reading of open circuit voltage close to the label in strong light is a good sign.
  5. Inspect the glass and cells. Look for cracks, chipped corners, uneven colour and brown lines.
  6. Ask for the model’s datasheet. Genuine makers publish one with the panel’s full ratings.
  7. Get a written bill and warranty card. Include brand, model, wattage and the warranty period.

Protecting the panel from theft and wind

Small panels are easy to carry off and easy for a storm to lift. Spend a little on protection:

Technician testing a 180 watt panel's voltage with a multimeter
Test the panel under strong sun before you take it home.
  • Use anti-theft or tamper-proof bolts on the frame clamps.
  • On carts and stalls, add a lockable chain through the panel frame.
  • Bolt roof stands into the slab or weigh them down properly; a loose stand acts like a sail in a summer storm.
  • Fit rubber washers between frame and stand to stop rattling and wear.
  • Check bolts and cable ties after every major dust storm or monsoon spell.

Get these right and the 180 watt solar panel gives you a little more power than a 150 W plate in the same space, which is often exactly the upgrade a small 12 V system needs.

Frequently asked questions

What is the 180 watt solar panel price in Pakistan?

The cheapest A-grade 180 W mono panel on our live sheet is Rs 10,000, last checked 31 Oct 2026. 150 W and 200 W prices vary a lot by brand and grade, so get a dealer quote for those on the same day before you decide which is the better buy.

Is a 180 W panel the same size as a 150 W panel?

Often, yes. Many makers fit 180 W into a frame of about 1480 by 670 mm, close to a typical 150 W panel, by using stronger cells. Always check the exact frame size before buying for an existing stand.

Can a 180 watt solar panel run Wi-Fi and CCTV all day?

A router and fibre box, which together draw about 10 to 15 W, can run around the clock on one 180 W panel and a 12 V 100 Ah battery. A two-camera CCTV setup works in summer but is tight in foggy winters. Four cameras with a DVR need two or three panels.

How many units does a 180 W panel produce?

Roughly 0.5 to 1.2 units a day depending on season and region, or about 250 to 350 units a year. Upper Punjab winters are the weakest and Balochistan's clear skies give the most.

Which controller should I use with a 180 W panel?

A 20 A PWM controller rated for 12 V suits one panel. Use 30 A for two panels in parallel. MPPT only makes sense with three or more panels or a long cable run.

Is a 180 W panel good for a fruit cart or stall?

Yes. It is light enough to mount on a cart frame and gives enough charge for LED lights, phone charging and a small fan through the evening. Keep the battery in a closed box and face the panel south when you park.

How can I tell if a 180 W panel is genuine?

Measure the frame and multiply length by width in metres, then by about 230. If the label claims more watts than that, it is likely overstated. Also check Voc near 22 to 23 V in sunlight.
