The 700 watt solar panel price in Pakistan starts from Rs 29,400 for the cheapest A-grade plate on our sheet, which works out to Rs 42 per watt. Panels of this size are new to most Pakistani rooftops, so this page covers what you actually get for the money: the real datasheet numbers, how many plates you need for a 3, 5 or 10 kW system, how many units one panel makes in your city, and which inverters handle its high current.

Most 700 W plates sold here are the large 2384 × 1303 mm format with 132 half-cut n-type cells, either HJT (heterojunction) or TOPCon. They are heavy, glass on both sides and bifacial, so they behave differently on a roof than the 585 W panels most installers are used to.

700 watt solar panel specifications

Two common 700 W models in the Pakistani market are the Risen Hyper-ion (HJT) and the Trina Vertex N (TOPCon). Here is how their datasheets compare at standard test conditions.

A few things stand out. The face of each plate is about 3.1 square metres, or roughly 33 square feet, so you need far more roof space per panel than you might expect. The weight is close to 40 kg, which means two people for every lift and a structure built for the load. The current is the big one: at around 18 A short-circuit, many older inverters cannot use the full output of a 700 W panel. We cover that in the inverter section below. For a full chart of panel sizes, see our solar panel size in feet guide.

The temperature figure matters more in Pakistan than anywhere in the brochure. On a June afternoon the cells sit 35–40 °C above the 25 °C test temperature. At -0.24%/°C an HJT plate loses about 9–10% of its power in that heat, while a PERC plate at -0.35%/°C loses about 13–14%.

700 W vs nearby wattages: which should you buy?

The 700 W plate sits between the 650 W class and the 720 W top bin of the same frame size. This table pulls live prices from our rate sheet.

WattageCheapest pricePrice per wattTypical sizeWho it suits
650 WRs 27,950Rs 43About 2.38 m long, width varies by modelNarrower roofs, lighter structure

720 WRs 29,520Rs 412384 × 1303 mmSame frame, a little more output
585 W (reference)Rs 23,400Rs 402278 × 1134 mmThe common house rooftop choice

How to read this:

  • If the per-watt price of 700 W is close to 585 W, the bigger plate wins on a large roof, because you buy fewer clamps, rails and MC4 connectors and spend less on labour.
  • If your roof is narrow or broken up by water tanks and stair rooms, 650 watt or 585 W plates often fit more total watts on the same roof. The extra 17 cm of width on a 700 W panel can cost you a whole row.
  • 700 and 720 W panels share the same body. The 720 W is just a higher power bin, so compare them on price per watt, not size. See the 720 watt solar panel price page for that model.
  • For house systems up to 5 kW, the savings from fewer panels are small. The large format pays off most on 10 kW and above, or on shops, factories and farmhouses.

HJT or TOPCon at 700 W?

Both technologies are n-type and both beat old PERC panels on heat and long-term degradation. The difference at 700 W is small but real, and it shows up most in a Pakistani summer.

In plain terms, an HJT plate keeps two or three percent more of its power on the hottest afternoons. Over a year in Multan or Sukkur that can add up to a noticeable number of units. If the per-watt price is the same, HJT is the better buy for hot cities. If TOPCon is clearly cheaper, the difference in units will not repay a large premium.

How many 700 W panels for 3, 5 and 10 kW (with price)

Divide the system size by 700 and round up. The table below does this for you and multiplies by the current cheapest 700 W price. These are panel costs only.

Installers marking rooftop rows for 700 watt solar panels in Multan
Fewer large plates still need careful layout on the roof.
System sizePanels neededActual DC sizePanel costRoof space (panels only)
3 kW53.5 kWRs 147,000about 170 sq ft
5 kW85.6 kWRs 235,200about 270 sq ft
10 kW1510.5 kWRs 441,000about 500 sq ft

Roof space is the area of the panels alone. Add walkways and gaps between rows for cleaning and shading, which usually means 30–50% more.

Notice the odd sizes. With 700 W plates you rarely land exactly on 3, 5 or 10 kW. Five panels give 3.5 kW and eight give 5.6 kW. Slightly oversizing the array compared with the inverter is normal and fine within the inverter’s DC input limit, and it helps in winter when output drops. What you should avoid is a panel count that cannot be split evenly into strings. Eight panels on a two-MPPT inverter works nicely as 4 + 4. Fifteen panels for 10 kW might need an 8 + 7 split, which most inverters accept when each string has its own MPPT.

Is a 700 W panel right for a normal house roof?

For a 5 marla house the answer is often no, and that is fine. Ask yourself these questions before you settle on the big format:

  • Is there a clear, unshaded strip at least 2.5 metres deep for each row? If not, the panel will hang over parapets or water tanks.
  • Can the stairs and roof door take a 2.4 metre plate? Some older houses need panels lifted from outside with a rope.
  • Is your roof slab in good condition? Fifteen panels of about 40 kg each add over 600 kg before the steel frame.
  • Are you going above 8 kW? Below that, the saving from fewer panels is small and a 585 W system is easier to service.

The full system price adds the inverter, structure, cabling, breakers and labour. Our 5kW solar system price page breaks that down.

How many units does a 700 watt panel produce in Pakistan?

Units (kWh) depend on your city and the season more than on the brand. The figures below start from long-term solar data for each city and take off about 20% for heat, dust, wiring and inverter losses, which is what a clean, south-facing rooftop actually delivers.

CitySummer (units/day)Winter (units/day)Year average (units/day)Monthly range (units)Units per year
Lahore3.52.03.060–110about 1,080
Karachi3.42.93.487–126about 1,240
Islamabad3.82.13.163–114about 1,120

Lahore’s winter figure is low because of fog and smog from mid-November to January. Karachi stays steadier all year and peaks in spring, while the cloudy monsoon months pull its summer average down. Islamabad has strong summers but cold, short winter days.

Practical rules from these numbers:

  • One 700 W panel makes about 3 units a day averaged over the year in most of Punjab, a little more in Karachi.
  • A 5.6 kW array of eight panels in Lahore makes about 28 units on a good summer day and about 16 on a foggy December day.
  • Bifacial plates mounted high on a light-coloured roof can add a few percent from the back side. Do not count on the 10–20% figures in brochures for a normal flat roof.
  • Dust costs real units. A plate left uncleaned for a few weeks in the dry season can lose 5–10% or more.

What can a 700 watt solar panel run?

At noon on a clear day a 700 W panel delivers about 500–580 W after heat and inverter losses. In the morning and late afternoon it is much less. Here is what that power covers in practice, running directly through an inverter during sunshine.

Tailor shop fans and lights running on 700 watt solar panels
A few large panels can carry a small shop's daytime load.
ApplianceTypical running wattsHow many on one 700 W panel at noon
Ceiling fan (AC, standard)75–80 W6
DC inverter fan30–40 W12–14
LED bulb or tube10–20 W25+
Inverter fridge100–150 W while running1, with room for fans
1 HP water motorabout 750 W, more at startNo, needs two or more panels
1.5 ton inverter AC1,000–1,500 WNo, needs at least 3–4 panels

A single 700 W panel is too big for a basic solar UPS and too small for an air conditioner. Most people buy these plates in sets of 5 to 15. As a rule of thumb, to run a 1.5 ton inverter AC through the day you want about 2 to 2.5 kW of panels, which is three or four 700 W plates. Run the AC on solar hours and let the grid or battery cover the evening.

For a motor, the problem is the starting surge. A 1 HP motor can draw several times its running power for a second. Size the inverter for the surge, not just the running load.

Best inverter for 700 W panels

The 700 W panel is where many cheap inverters run out of headroom. Check three numbers on the inverter’s datasheet before you buy.

  1. Maximum input current per MPPT. The Risen 700 W has an Isc of 17.82 A and Imp of 16.77 A. If the inverter accepts only 13 or 14 A per MPPT, it will clip the output every sunny hour. Look for 18 A or more per MPPT, or 30 A+ where one MPPT takes two parallel strings.
  2. Maximum PV input voltage. Voc rises in cold weather. On a 3 °C winter morning a 49.83 V panel reaches about 52 V. On a hybrid inverter with a 500 V limit, that means no more than 9 panels in a string. On a 1,000–1,100 V on-grid inverter, you can go up to about 18–20.
  3. MPPT voltage window. In June heat the string voltage drops. Each 700 W plate gives about 38 V at hot operating temperature, so a string of four (about 150 V) is near the bottom of many hybrid windows. Five or more panels per string is safer.
Inverter typeGood panel count per string (700 W)Notes
Hybrid, 450–500 V max input5 to 9Check the current limit first
On-grid, 1,000–1,100 V max8 to 18Best for 10 kW+ and net billing
Off-grid with PWM controllerNot suitableUse MPPT only

On-grid inverters suit you if you mainly want to cut the day-time bill. Hybrid inverters add battery backup for load-shedding. Since the NEPRA prosumer regulations notified in February 2026, new grid connections are on net billing, where exported units are bought back at a much lower rate than you pay for imported units, so using your own power during the day matters more than exporting it. Buying tips before you pay

Large-format plates bring a few risks that 540–585 W buyers rarely face.

Buyer checking a 700 watt dual-glass panel edge on delivery
Inspect the glass before the delivery team leaves.
  • Check the label on the back. It should show the exact model number, power bin, Voc and Isc, and a serial number. Match these against the datasheet and the bill.
  • Ask for the warranty terms in writing. Ask who handles a claim in Pakistan, the brand’s local distributor or the dealer, and what proof they need.
  • Inspect the glass on delivery. Dual-glass panels are stiff but can crack if carried flat on a rickshaw roof or flexed. Insist on flat-bed transport with the plates standing on their long edge in the carton.
  • Check the structure. A 700 W plate is about 2.4 metres long and carries strong wind load on an elevated rooftop frame. Ask the installer what rail size and clamping positions they will use, and make sure they follow the manufacturer’s installation manual.
  • Get an itemised bill. It should list brand, model, wattage, quantity and serial numbers. You will need it for any warranty claim and for a net-billing application.
  • Do a quick output test before the installer leaves: on a clear noon the inverter should show close to 75–85% of the array’s rated watts.

Frequently asked questions

What is the 700 watt solar panel price in Pakistan right now?

The cheapest A-grade 700 W panel on our rate sheet is Rs 29,400, last checked on 1 Nov 2026. Prices move with the dollar and import costs, so confirm the rate with your dealer on the day you pay.

What is the size of a 700 watt solar panel in feet?

Most 700 W panels measure 2384 × 1303 mm, which is about 7.8 feet long and 4.3 feet wide. Each plate covers roughly 33 square feet, so plan your roof layout before buying.

How much does a 700 watt solar panel weigh?

Expect about 38 to 40 kg depending on the model and frame. That is heavy enough to need two people for every lift and a properly designed steel structure.

How many units does a 700 watt panel make per day?

In Lahore or Islamabad a clean 700 W panel makes about 3.5 units on a clear summer day and about 2 units on a foggy winter day. Averaged over the year it is close to 3 units a day.

Can my inverter handle 700 watt panels?

Check the maximum input current per MPPT. A 700 W panel has a short-circuit current of around 18 A, and inverters rated for 13 to 14 A per MPPT will clip its output. Also make sure the string's cold-morning voltage stays under the inverter's maximum PV voltage.

Is a 700 watt panel better than a 585 watt panel?

Not always. The 700 W plate saves on clamps, rails and labour for large systems, but a 585 W panel is narrower and easier to fit on small, crowded house roofs. Compare the price per watt and how many watts each layout fits on your roof.

Should I buy HJT or TOPCon in the 700 watt range?

HJT panels such as the Risen Hyper-ion lose a little less power in heat, which helps in hot cities. TOPCon panels are more widely stocked. If prices per watt are close, HJT is slightly better for a Pakistani summer.

How many 700 watt panels do I need for a 10 kW system?

Fifteen 700 W panels give 10.5 kW. Split them into strings that match your inverter's MPPT inputs and voltage limits.
